Usually, when you plug your MP3 player into a PC, Windows automatically recognizes it. If you see the message "Unknown Device" your Windows PC does not recognize your MP3 player, so there could be device driver compatibility issues. This FAQ will walk...
Chinese mp3 player driver
Hello Carlos!Thank you for interest to my article! This MP3 player have no FM module supporting. But it is quite possible that exist some other similar models with FM, because the main chip (GPD2806C-004A) of this MP3 player have support to work with external FM modules.
And what made it perfect is that I want to replace the guts of the MP3 player itself and for the price I got a perfectly fitting dispaly, buttons, usb connector, audio jack and battery which all of them I'll be using inside the neat case
I got this cheap MP3 player, but when I plugged it into my PC it said "Please insert disk" or something like that!So I opened it up and lo and behold the flash chip wasnt soldered in properly.Anyway here are some tips on how to open it up, fix and put back together.
First unscrew the screw. There is only one! This holds the pocket clip on.Now carefully take the front buttons off, via the top. They clip in either side so take a small screwdriver and pry it out. (you can see the little tabs on the picture. They are only on the right side, the bottom case clips into the buttons from the left side)Next find the little clips on the bottom each end. Use small screwdrivers to push them in then gently slide the inner shell out of the metal casing.
Hahaha! Same problem here, but I have a set of earphones with integrated volume control (a slider on the cord) and if I keep the volume on the earphones at low and the volume of player at high, the !@#$% is mostly gone :) This left me with a reduced batt time and I miss the higher frequencies too. However, since you posted 2 years ago I think your problem is solved by now (I replyed because your post made me laugh :)
I would very much like to know how to add an sd card slot to this player. Eltro please open your player and take a pic of your board and expansion slot. These players are fun and economical, but dont have enough memory.
Did you come up with anything to shuffle? It always plays the track in the same order from the "start", whatever that may be. I am going to try some experiments to see if the order depends on the track name or the file creation date. If I know what the little MP3 player is using to determine the order, I can rig up an artificial shuffle by changing the triggering conditions.
These and others are available at alibaba.com I bought an MP3 player that plays through the car FM and plugs in the lighter socket. They want you to buy in quantity and tell your bank you are making the purchase, my visa was frozen once I did :-( The players worked fine.
Thank you. I happened to think I could spend about $6 for a battery kit and spend some time installing it, or I could simply buy a new player for $7.02. Maybe that will change by the time I need a battery, though.

Despite being primarily defined by the use of a system-on-a-chip of one of the Actions brands[2] usually of the ATJ20xx series and some common core features, S1 products vary widely in software and hardware as well as design (including lookalikes and even counterfeits of other players), leading to a jumble of hard to identify internal designs, all employing non-mutually-interchangeable firmwares.
Available utilities for Microsoft Windows include an ACT to WAV file converter (for files recorded on the device), a basic desktop editor to enter contact details for the device's phone book function and device drivers for Windows 98. An 8 cm CD-ROM containing some or all of these is included with some versions of the device.
The firmware used in various S1 MP3 players differs significantly, but this is not widely understood. Problems have arisen as consumers have attempted to upgrade their players using incompatible firmware with a higher version number. This can damage the players almost permanently. However, a 'dead' player can sometimes be recovered by opening it, shorting some pins and uploading a full firmware from the PC.[7]

If your are not an audiophile and don't care much about audio/video quality, cheap chinese MP3/MP4 players are just for you, these devices are quite popular and just get the job done, since there is no quality control over these devices they do not last long, one of the most common problems faced with these portable players is the issue of firmware software corruption, I encountered a similar problem with my friends PMP which refused to start getting stuck at loading screen, the only solution was to flash the firmware but the problem was unavailability of any information and tools to get the job done, after long research and flashing the firmware I was able to successfully recover the MP4 player to working condition.
Thanks alot for this information I do have the Same PMP player, but I don't have the Driver Cd with it and I am not able to use the Pc Camera Feature If you can upload the Driver Cd I'll be Highly thankful. My PMP player does not have an FM player But can I upgrade the Drivers to get the FM player(Radio)........I'll be waiting for you reply..
When I first got it it worked fine. I made no changes to it but a week later it refused to play ANYTHING. All I get is DISK ERROR. That includes photos, videos, MP3's, and even the games that were pre-installed on the unit. I tried reformating the disk, no help. There is a reset button in the back of the player, no help. Here's the wierd thing, and I've owned several of these things: usually the problem is the device not interfacing with your computer, that IS NOT the problem. You can plug it in, go to DISK G (the drive I assigned it) and all the files ARE THERE!!!! It's LIKE a large flash drive that stores all the files you tranfer to it, it just can't play those files itself. You can play those files on the computer from the device so the data is uncorrupted, IT'S IN THERE!!!! The device just won't play anything. I've tried changing all the various SETUP settings and NOTHING helps. Again, I have owned about 5 of these things. Soem work perfectly, some don't interface with my computer, but I have NEVER had this problem before. Ideas? Thanks.
i've the cd which came whit it but i did not see any drivers inside, it come with software to convert video, the software(FMR Pro) to change the firmware or update it and a back-up of the firmware.
